SIROCCO/RIGHT Young Scientists Symposium

The SIROCCO/RIGHT Symposium for Young Scientists was held at Jesus College Cambridge 16-19 April 2008

The PhD students and postdocs of the SIROCCO/RIGHT consortia came together in the beautiful city of Cambridge to exchange ideas and discuss results during this informal meeting. In the traditional buildings of Jesus College of the University of Cambridge we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the symposium. Not only the discussions were open and relaxed, but also the people got in closer contact with each other during the poster session and the social events after the seminars. It was excellent to see that there is no competition but collaboration between the institutes and the basis for this are these events like the Young Scientist Symposium. As a highlight I would like to mention the keynote lectures by John Rossi and Judy Lieberman that gave us a great overview about what is possible and what is currently being done in their groups to bring RNAi from bench to bedside.
So I would like to thank first of all Aileen and Simone for their excellent organization and for giving us the opportunity to take part in this wonderful symposium. Second, I would like to thank all the people making this symposium a perfect event.
